Common questions

The app says it can't access the camera. RoomSighter needs camera access to detect obstacles. On iOS: Settings → RoomSighter → Camera. On the website: check your browser's site permissions for insighter.world and make sure no other app/tab is already using the camera.

Detections seem wrong, or distance estimates feel off. This is expected in some cases — see the note below. If it's consistently and badly wrong (not just occasionally), email a description of the scenario (lighting, distance, object type) to the address above; it's genuinely useful for improving the model.

How do I delete my account and data? Sign in, tap your profile, then Delete Account. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what's stored and removed.

Is RoomSighter a replacement for a white cane or guide dog? No. RoomSighter is not a certified medical or safety device, has not been clinically validated, and detection is not perfect — objects can be missed, misclassified, or reported at the wrong distance. Do not rely on it as your sole means of navigating around hazards. See the Terms of Use for the full picture.

Which platforms are supported? A native iOS app (iOS 17+) and this website, usable from any modern desktop or mobile browser — the live demo needs camera access and, ideally, a stable connection for distance estimation.
